PUBLIC TERMS
Terms of Service
Effective August 20, 2026
These terms describe the current controlled pilot of SurroundMe. By using the service, you agree to follow them.
The service
SurroundMe helps a patient or family create a private “mob” of trusted people. The service may provide private invitations, patient and member access, family choices, activities, and ways to stay connected. It is not medical care, medical advice, an emergency service, or a replacement for professional help.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to agree to these terms or use SurroundMe with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. During the pilot, a family or account owner creates and manages the family account. Do not create an account or invite someone unless you have authority to do so.
Account-owner responsibilities
Account owners must provide accurate information, protect account and invitation links, invite only trusted people, respect the patient’s privacy, and promptly revoke access that should end. Before asking SurroundMe to text a mob member, the account owner must read the approved verbal script to the phone owner and receive a clear “yes.” Entering someone else’s number without their consent is not allowed.
Acceptable use
Do not use SurroundMe to harm, threaten, harass, deceive, exploit, discriminate against, or invade the privacy of another person. Do not upload unlawful content, expose private health information without permission, share access links, bypass security, interfere with the service, or use it for advertising or unsolicited messaging.
SMS participation
With the phone owner’s express consent, SurroundMe may send private invitation links and service messages about participation in a family’s mob. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help.
Twilio or a mobile carrier may process supported STOP and HELP keywords. SurroundMe will not claim that a specific automated reply or suppression flow is active until it has been verified for the production number or Messaging Service. Production SMS must not begin until that verification is complete.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes current data practices. Mobile phone information and SMS consent information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Pilot availability
The pilot may change, pause, or experience errors. Features described in prototypes or plans may not yet be available. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Ending access
A phone owner may reply STOP to request that messages stop. An account owner may revoke invitations or member access. SurroundMe may restrict access needed to protect people, privacy, or the service.
Changes
We may update these terms as the pilot changes. The effective date above shows the current version.
