Privacy Policy

SurroundMe is a private service that helps a patient or family stay connected with people they trust. This policy explains the information the current pilot service uses.
Information we collect
We collect account details, names, family and mob relationships, mobile numbers, privacy choices, invitation and access records, and the information people choose to add to SurroundMe. Medical updates are optional. During the controlled SMS pilot, we also keep evidence that a phone owner agreed to receive texts, including the number, consent method, time, account owner who recorded it, script version, family context, and withdrawal status when available.
How we use information
We use information to provide and protect the service, create private groups, send requested access or invitation texts, enforce permissions, prevent misuse, troubleshoot delivery, and improve reliability. We do not use advertising or behavioral tracking in private areas.
Mobile and SMS information
We will not sell or share mobile phone information or SMS consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
We may use service providers, such as messaging, hosting, authentication, and database providers, only to operate and protect SurroundMe. They may process information for those operational services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help.
Who can see private information
Access depends on a person’s role and the family’s settings. Account owners manage the family. Patients and mob members receive narrower access. We avoid showing phone numbers where they are not needed. Private links expire and are intended only for the person who received them.
Storage, security, and retention
SurroundMe uses access controls and other technical safeguards intended to limit access. No online service can promise perfect security. We keep information while it is needed to run the pilot, protect the service, maintain consent and delivery records, or resolve problems. More complete deletion and retention controls are still being developed.
Your choices
You may choose not to share optional health information. A text recipient may reply STOP to request that texts stop. Provider-supported keyword behavior must be verified before production messaging begins. Account owners can revoke pending invitations and member access in SurroundMe.
Children and family accounts
SurroundMe is designed to support families, including families with children. The controlled pilot requires a family account owner to manage the family and its invitations. Product safeguards do not replace any consent or review that may be legally required for a particular pilot.
Changes
We may update this policy as the pilot changes. The effective date above shows the current version.
