Connection doesn’t stop at the hospital door.
We are creating a future where a major illness or injury won't disconnect children from the people and everyday moments they love.
The SurroundMe app will give each family private circles of support for their child, siblings, and the people who want to show up for them.
A nonprofit building a private mobile app
A major illness or injury can change a child’s world overnight. It should not take away their place in it.
SurroundMe is being designed to help children and teenagers continue experiencing the friendships, routines, and ordinary moments that help them feel grounded in who they are.
Members of support circles share encouragement, jokes, familiar activities, photos, personal video messages, and practical support. Siblings can have a circle of their own. Parents and guardians decide what health information to share—if any.
The SurroundMe app we are building
These early development screens show the kind of private mobile experience SurroundMe is becoming.

Most platforms created for families facing a serious illness help them share updates and coordinate practical assistance.
SurroundMe is being built to do something more: create a private, child-centered space where a trusted circle can remain meaningfully present through everyday moments—so illness does not become the only thing connecting them.
Built by a nonprofit.
SurroundMe, Inc. is a nonprofit organization developing this visionary mobile app that will always be free for affected families. Donations support app development, safety, and the day-to-day work required to build this transformative social tool.
Stay connected.
We are building SurroundMe with children, families, health care teams, and communities in mind. Follow along and help shape what comes next.
